Croatian experts advise Kosovo delegation on European integration

UNDP workshop shares "do's and don'ts" of Stabilization and Association Agreement

Veterans of Croatia's accession negotiations to the European Union (EU) shared advice with a high-level Government delegation from Kosovo, including seven deputy ministers, at a workshop organized on 5-6 June 2013 in Zagreb by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in coordination with the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. The focus of discussion was the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) which Kosovo is currently negotiating with the European Commission. As part of its earlier quest for EU membership, Croatia signed its own SAA with the EU in October 2001.

More than a third of all women affected by physical or sexual violence - UN report

More than a third of women worldwide are affected by physical or sexual violence, many at the hands of an intimate partner, according to a new United Nations report that offers guidelines to help countries respond to this global epidemic.

The report, Global and regional estimates of violence against women: Prevalence and health effects of intimate partner violence and non-partner sexual violence , represents the first systematic study of global data on the prevalence of violence against women – both by partners and non-partners. more »
